About Me

Becky Carson | asavoryplate.comMy name is Becky and as far as I can remember, I have always cooked. Some of my earliest memories involve a stool, a kitchen counter, a colander, and a head of lettuce to wash and tear. Mom says it was a good way to keep me out of trouble while she prepped dinner and while I cannot say I have always loved it (chores are chores after all) I definitely do now.

A few years ago I put a week’s worth of bagged lunches up for auction to help raise money for a Sub for Santa fundraiser. The bidding war that broke out was gratifying, but the most memorable part came later. The woman who won the auction only requested that I include no fish, otherwise giving me a free hand in planning the meals. Afterward she told me that not only had she loved every dish, but that she also ended the week feeling healthier than she had in ages. Since that time my goal when feeding my loved ones has been to make them feel indulged and loved and at the same time feel healthy and nourished. This blog is an extension of that effort. I hope you find it fun and useful.
